StatusTrail

Getting started

Everything you need to add StatusTrail to a board and read your first report.

1. Install

  1. Open the StatusTrail listing on the monday marketplace and click Add to your account.
  2. Pick a workspace when prompted. StatusTrail requests a single permission: read your boards' data. It never changes anything on your boards.

2. Add the view to a board

  1. Open any board with a Status (color) column.
  2. Next to the board's view tabs, click + Add view.
  3. Choose StatusTrail — Time in Status.

3. Read your first report

  1. Pick the status column(s) you want to measure.
  2. StatusTrail reads the board's history and shows, for each item, how long it spent in each status, plus cycle time.
  3. Click any duration cell to see the exact transition trail behind it.

Business hours

Turn on the Business hours toggle to count only working time. Set your work week, daily hours, holidays and timezone — StatusTrail handles weekends, holidays and daylight-saving changes for you.

Subitems

Switch subitems to Grouped to see each parent item with its subitems' status durations rolled up beneath it. (Subitem analytics are part of the Business plan.)

Exporting

Use Export CSV for two files: a durations table (numeric seconds you can sum and pivot, plus human-readable columns) and a raw transitions log (every status change with ISO timestamps). (Export is part of the Pro and Business plans.)

How far back does it go?

StatusTrail reads the status-change history monday keeps for your plan (from one week on Basic up to five years on Enterprise) and then keeps building its own history from the day you install — so your reports get richer over time, and stay accurate even for changes older than monday's own window.

A note on accuracy

When StatusTrail can only see part of an item's history (for example, activity older than your monday plan retains), it marks affected durations with a sign — an honest lower bound, never a guess.
